When I was in Tucson a couple weeks ago for the 2016 Plein Air Convention, I painted this plein air painting as the sun was rising. I had woken up early because I was still on East coast time. The air was cool and the birds were singing to me as I painted. This is not my typical subject for painting, but I was captivated by the glowing halo of light around the cacti. I tried to capture it as best I could.
